Installing Skyway Visual Workspace

 

With this release, Skyway Software provides a simpler installation approach that eliminates the need for the user to pre-install an application server and database server for Skyway Builder to use. Note, that the application server and database server that come as part of the Skyway Builder are used to store the meta-data needed for application development and by default, the generated Skyway applications. Users can configure their local domain to use other supported application servers and database servers for generated Skyway applications.

 

Before performing an installation, ensure the following is considered:

 

 

To install Skyway Builder, Director and/or Model Manager:

 

  1. <Double-click> on the Skyway application file to launch the installation wizard.  The InstallAnywhere screen displays, and initializes the installation process.

 

At any point during the installation, you may click the Cancel button in the bottom left corner of the install wizard to exit out of the installation process.

 

 

Once the initialization completes, the Skyway Visual Workspace Installer screen displays.

 

 

 

  1. On the Introduction pane, verify that all of the prerequisite software products will be installed with your copy of Skyway Visual Workspace, then <click> Next to continue.

 

The Licence Agreement pane displays.

 

 

 

  1. Accept the terms of the License Agreement, then <click> the Next button. The Select Products pane displays listing the Skyway products available for installation.

 

 

  1. Select the desired products to install, then <click> the Next button.  The Choose Skyway Home Directory panel displays.

 

 

  1. Enter the directory where you would like to install the Skyway products or <click> the Choose... button to select another directory on your machine. After selecting the appropriate directory, click the Next button.  Depending on the products that were selected for install, the appropriate Name pane displays.

 

 

  1. Enter a descriptive name and click the Next button.  The Pre-Installation Summary pane displays.

 

 

  1. The Pre-Installation Summary pane allows you to review the installation configuration prior to beginning the actual installation process. Review this information for accuracy, then click the Next button.  The Installing Skyway Visual Workspace pane displays.

 

NOTE: 1099 is the Application Server JNDI port and 16002 is the Database Server port used by Skyway Builder.

 

During the installation, you will see the message "Installing Skyway Visual Workspace" The progress bar will inform you which specific product is currently being installed. This may take some time.

 

 

 

  1. When the installation completes, the Installation Complete - Success pane displays.

 

<Click> the Done button to close the installer.

 

 

 

Post Installation

It is recommended that the user reboots their machine after install.
